Kalab Sulliven is an inspiring actor with great talent, high potential, and experience performing at the Gaslight Theater. He is part of the drama class to further gain experience, pursuing his dream of acting. Any agent would be lucky to have him as young talent on their side. With his skills in the futher he could potentially be the next best thing for Hollywood movies.
Sulliven started his acting carrer 6th grade at Magee Middle School. Since then, he has had four lead roles, mainly here at Sahuaro High School. His roles include Zombie, which was a mock of psa on how to survive a zombie apacalipse were he played many roles and died from zombies many times. He was also in The Crucible, a play about the Salem Witch Trials and how messed up they were. The most recent one was You Ruined a Perfectly Good Mystery, which was about Sherlock Holmes, where he played the detective’s sidekick.
The role models that inspired Sulliven to get into acting were Jack Black, not only helping him act, but also helping him feel comfortable on stage in his skin on stage. “Yeah, he helped me get over my weight when acting.”
Throughout his time in middle school, he was subject to a lot of bullying, not just from strangers but also from close friends. That influenced his reason for acting. Not being particularly happy himself, he chose to make others happy and laugh, and acting is the way that he can accomplish that. Along with the other reason being the fact that he likes to step into others’ shoes. Sulliven explains, “I like to step into others’ shoes and see how they react and respond to things.”
Sulliven’s dream role is Patrick Star in a future SpongeBob movie, as he thinks he would be a good fit for the character. He has also played in the Winter Assembly as Santa, a kid, and an elf. I, for one, am excited to see where he goes with his skills. If applied properly, he could be one of the biggest actors in Hollywood because everyone loves an actor who can play off of anything, and Kalab is exactly that. He is very versatile for comedy roles and serious roles of all kinds.
Other than his acting carrer he is a kind-hearted individual who does the right thing. For example, taking on a role, not because he wanted to, but because his teacher needed him for the role. He accepted it because the class was a grade behind him, even though he was not enrolled in that class.
Be on the lookout for any movies Kalab stars in or any side roles he plays in, because I am sure that anything he does will be great.
