Meet Sahuaro’s leader of the Class of 2029, President Khloe Gonzalez. She was born and raised here in Tucson, and she loves it here. Growing up, she lived with seven family members and spent her summers at the YMCA. That’s when she really started to love being involved and talking to people, both there and at school, where she developed a love for all sports.
Khloe Gonzalez has already shown that she is responsible, organized, and ready to speak up for others. Khloe said she is excited to create fun events during the pep rallies, homecomings, and Spirit Weeks, and she makes sure every student feels included at Sahuaro. “I love being involved with my school, especially because I meet so many amazing people, and I also love helping people out and being able to use my voice for all the events I do.” Khloe is capable of putting herself out there and talking with just about anyone. She’s able to be a voice for people who might be more shy but feel comfortable talking to her, so she can pass their ideas on.
When people disagree with her ideas, she trusts their judgment but also explains her ideas further so they can truly understand where she is coming from. She feels it is amazing to work alongside very open-minded people because they are always willing to consider her ideas. Her favorite thing about the student council is how enjoyable it is. She loves being able to help with events, help lead her class, and see all of her classmates enjoy themselves at all of those events.
She is also looking forward to collaborating with teachers, coaches, and club advisors to bring new ideas to life on campus. She wants students to feel comfortable approaching her with questions or suggestions, even if they have never been involved before. By keeping communication open and staying positive, Khloe believes Sahuaro can grow closer and better than ever.
