Sahuaro High School’s kitchen staff prepares our breakfast and lunch every day, and they deserve to be better known. They work hard to prepare our lunches hot and ready to be served, and our breakfasts delicious and stomach-filling. While many people know little about what they do or who they are, we have them to thank for us being able to eat every day for free.
Sahuaro’s kitchen staff dail provide students with our free lunches and breakfast. They prepare various unique options for us to enjoy so that we may never grow tired of the same options every single day. You can get pizza and pasta on a regular basis. Some days, we get unique choices that tend to be fan favorites among Sahuaro students.
On January 30th, when classes were cancelled, the kitchen staff remained at school to provide breakfast or lunch for students who showed up to the school. Thanks to them, students who chose to show up were able to eat if they weren’t able to bring a lunch from home.
Throughout the years, Sahuaro’s kitchen staff have been working harder and harder as they say goodbye to the graduating Seniors and hello to the newly arriving Freshmen. As Sahuaro sees many of its Seniors leave this school, they can be proud to have been able to serve them food for so long. As Sahuaro welcomes the new Freshmen, our kitchen staff opens its doors to provide meals until they eventually graduate from Sahuaro.
When asked about the kitchen staff as a whole and all they do, Glory Chandler-Alba, the kitchen staff member who makes the burgers, told us, “We work really hard to provide everything you need to eat. We do our best to make sure you have food every day.”
One of Sahuaro’s students, Jeremiah J, said, “They’re alright, though I don’t know much about them,” which proves why we should learn new things about our kitchen staff. A different Sahuaro student, Myah Carter, commented, “They’re nice, I like them,” which shows that no matter how few you may know about them, there are still lots of students who appreciate all they do.
Sahuaro’s students, from freshmen to seniors, are grateful to be able to get free food that they enjoy every day. Many of our students love the food options and varieties every day. As the school and its staff can watch their students flourish, having the nutrients they need to have a full day of learning.
