Jens Oftebro: Norwegian Triple Olympic Gold

Jens Oftebro is an outstanding athlete from Norway, born on July 25, 2000. He competes in one of the hardest winter sports in the world, the Nordic Combined, according to SBNATIO.

Nordic Combined is a snowy skill challenge where participants must first fly out to the air in the ski jumping portion of the event. Then, they must have the strength to finish a really long cross-country ski race. In February 2026, Jens Oftebro won 3 gold medals for Norway in the Winter Olympics.

Oftebro won a gold medal in the men’s individual Gundersen Large Hill on February 11th and the Normal Hill 10km competition on February 17th. His last Gold medal was a team cross-country sprint on February 19th with teammate Andrea Skoglund. His performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics was legendary, and not to mention, this came after an outstanding performance at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, where he won gold in the team Large Hill event and Silver in the individual Large Hill event.

Jens Oftebro has been skiing his whole life. His first memory of skiing was when he was three, as he was “…walking in the garden with cross-country skis and tried to make a loop as fast as possible.” In this same interview, he also claims that he started Nordic Combined because he and his brother beat his dad in the jumping competition.

Three gold medals in one Olympics is a historic moment. It shows all the hard work, and it also shows that practice can pay off. Oftebro shows that he’s a dual -threat athlete as he is fast while he races and also an amazing jumper. He proves that not all things are difficult, and all you need to do is have the dedication to do all the hard work.

Alonzo Willie

Alonzo Willie is an African American Freshman at Sahuaro High School and a proud student who lives in Tucson. This is his first year in The Paper Cut; he is joining halfway through the 2025-2026 school year as a reporter. Alonzo has quickly made an impact on the soccer field as a freshman; this year, his biggest accomplishments were that he made the varsity team and scored his first goal against Casa Grande High School. Alonzo started playing soccer when he was 7 years old and hasn’t looked back. Some of his accomplishments include winning a trophy for his middle school, Booth Fickett, last year. It is amazing how he dominates the soccer field and the classroom; with a high GPA, Alonzo is one of the top students in his class. Alonzo lives with his 2 parents and his 2 sisters. His favorite fast food place is Panda Express, which consists of fried rice, orange chicken, and teriyaki chicken. He claims that it reminds him of home, adding a nostalgic feeling whenever he eats there. His favorite movies are Forest Gump, Happy Gilmore, and 500 Days of Summer. Alonzo recalls watching Happy Gilmore with his dad, and now it’s been one of his all-time favorites. Alonzo also enjoyed watching 500 Days of Summer since his favorite artist named an album after the movie. While listening to the album, he stumbled upon the movie, which he enjoyed, and never looked back. He’s really excited to join the paper cut and most people don’t know that he actually wants to become a news reporter. He claims “I used to want to become a new reporter but I just lost the passion for it at the age of 10 and now I’m happy that there is a newspaper class because I meant get my courage back to become a news reporter.”
