According to Variety, the family sent out a statement alongside the heartbreaking news, “With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS. He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world,” before concluding with, “He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.”

The actor has been open with his Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis diagnosis, also known as ALS, which the Cleveland Clinic explains as a “neurodegenerative disease that targets the nerve cells (neurons) in your brain and spinal cord. It affects your muscle control. Symptoms worsen over time. ” While he struggled physically and mentally, Eric was constantly raising awareness and advocating for research on a cure for ALS.
He was determined to work and fight as long as he physically could, finishing up Season 3 of Eurphoria and another project, Countdown, until late 2025.
