Adrian Stubbs made Arizona high school basketball history when he dropped 100 points in one single game for Maryvale High School in January 2026. This outstanding performance came in a 109-25 win over Kofa High School.

Stubbs is described as “soft-spoken,” but on this night, he let his skills speak for themselves: at halftime, he had 70 points on his own and continued to play his best in the third quarter.  As Maryvale’s coach said, ” The opposing coach encouraged them to keep playing together and didn’t take Stubbs out,” noting, “(Stubbs) is having a special night, coach. Please don’t take him out. Don’t tell him not to shoot.”

When Stubbs reached the 100-point mark, he was praised and surrounded by his teammates and his coaches, who were over the moon by his amazing scoring and great shooting. He later reflected on his performance, saying, “Fantasize about having 100 points in a single game, but just going out there, I was just going with the flow. The game was falling, and I just kept shooting, and it just happened”. This quote shows that even though scoring 100 points is rare and impressive, Stubbs remained humble about what the moment meant to him.

Coach Smith explained that he kept Stubbs out of the fourth quarter not because he wasn’t playing well, but because they wanted to “respect the game and have the integrity for the game.” After the same were the goofing around and celebration as Stubbs was seen holding a paper with 100 on it, referencing the famous basketball player Wilt Chamberlain when he scored 100 points back in 1962.  That photo went mega viral, having millions of views.

Stubbs’ beautiful scoring and plays that night made him feel and look like a human highlight reel. Not only did he set the State record, but he also showed his leadership, teamwork, and respect that he earned from both his teammates and his opponents.
