Val Kilmer, star of the Top Gun franchise and Tombstone, died on April 1st, 2025, in Los Angeles, California. Kilmer’s death was due to pneumonia, which he recovered from following his 2014 throat cancer diagnosis. Kilmer achieved many things in his life, one of them being the youngest actor ever accepted to Juilliard during his time. Val was married to Joanne Whalley, with whom he had two kids, Jack and Mercedes Kilmer. He will be supremely missed by the lovers of Batman, Top Gun, and much more, everywhere.

Pope Francis was crowned as head of the Catholic Church on March 13th, 2013, and proudly served the church until his death on April 21st, 2025. He died in the Saint Martha House in Vatican City from a stroke. Pope Francis was well known for focusing the church on the poor and marginalized, as well as promoting interfaith dialogue (interaction between people of different religious faiths). Pope Francis is buried in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, alongside numerous past popes.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, a famous American actor and musician, died on July 20th, 2025, due to an accidental drowning on a beach near Cocles, Limon, Costa Rica. Malcolm was most known for his time on The Cosby Show, but his career also highlights his time on Malcolm & Eddie, Reed Between The Lines, and The Resident.

Ozzy Osbourne, English singer and songwriter, died on July 22nd from a heart attack. The iconic heavy metal singer was well known by his nickname, the ‘Prince of Darkness’ and co-founded Black Sabbath in 1968. He originally became famous in the 70s due to the band’s popularity but is well known for his time as a solo artist.

Hulk Hogan died of a heart attack on July 24th, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida. The WWE star was known as one of the best wrestlers in the world, winning numerous championships worldwide. Hogan had many memorials planned out for him on all WWE networks as well as a private memorial in Florida. He will be supremely missed by wrestlers and wrestling fans alike.

Giorgio Armani, famous Italian fashion designer, died on September 4th, 2025, of liver failure. He was widely regarded as one of the most influential designers in contemporary fashion. He never married or had children, dedicating his whole life to his designs. In 1983 Armani was recognized as the best international designer by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. As dictated in Armani’s will, the brand will continue to live as a public company.

Political activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated at the Utah Valley University on September 10th, 2025. He died at the hospital after being shot in the neck. Kirk was at the university debating college students on politics, which was a part of his career that he was most known for. Ironically, Charlie Kirk was debating Gun violence when he was shot.

Jane Goodall, English primatologist and anthropologist, died on October 1st, 2025, of Cardiac Arrest. She was most known for her 45-year study of chimpanzees at Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania. She was also the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and the Roots and Shoes Youth Program.

Diane Keaton, American actress, died on October 11th, 2025, from Pneumonia. She was most known by her roles in Annie Hall, The Godfather, The First Wives Club, and Something’s Gotta Give. She was also highlighted by her iconic style, specifically her hats and collaborations with Woody Allen.

Dick Cheney, Businessman and 46th Vice President of the United States, died on November 3rd of Cardiovascular Disease. The former Republican vice president was one of the most powerful, heavily influencing the 9/11 national security and advocating for the Iraq War. President Bush wrote, “Dick was a calm and steady presence in the White House amid great national challenges.”
