About the Contributors
Marley Gandee, Editor-in-Chief
Senior, Marley Gandee, has been a journalist for The Paper Cut since her freshman year. This is her second year as Editor-in-Chief. She loves writing and editing articles, interviewing students and staff, and photography. Her favorite articles to report on at Sahuaro are football games and human interest stories. This summer she attended Arizona Girls State, where she furthered her passion for politics. As for the future, Marley has several different career paths she wants to follow. She wants to first make a name for herself as a political journalist before venturing into running for a political office. Mar, as she likes to be called, enjoys listening to many different genres of music; some of her favorite bands/artists include CCR, The Rolling Stones, ABBA, Toby Mac, and Ben Rector. As for this year, she is excited to graduate, write countless more articles in The Paper Cut, and run cross country and track.
Montana Poe, Reporter
Montana Poe is a senior at Sahuaro High School who aspires to be a journalist after she graduates college. She has always loved talking and writing about things happening in the world, especially sports or entertainment-related events. She wants to travel and see new places that someday she might write about. Most of all, she wants to make her dad, who recently passed away, proud because she cares about what he thought and wanted for her future. She is excited about new, fun, and last experiences in her third year in The Paper Cut.
In Montana's free time, she enjoys playing sports, working out, and spending time with her family. She has four brothers who are all older than her but love her very much. Montana participates in both track and volleyball - which she almost equally enjoys - as well as playing club volleyball.
