Since Joe Biden has dropped out of the 2024 elections, attention has shifted to the new Democratic representative, Kamala Harris. Kamala, the current vice president, is campaigning for the presidency.
Like any other candidate, there is much controversy surrounding Kamala and her capabilities. However, most of the controversy stems from her actions while serving as vice president under Biden.
Kamala was sworn into office as vice president on January 20, 2021. She was the first woman and the first Afro-South Asian American to be elected into this high of a position. Prior to being Vice President, she was a lawyer and attorney general of California and is a graduate of Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She also managed to gain $20 for middle-class homeowners facing foreclosure. Kamala is best known for fighting for social and environmental rights, such as abortion rights, gun safety laws, and cleaning the environment. Kamala’s presidential plans include lowering housing costs and expanding access to affordable health care, and private prisons.
Many people doubt Kamala’s ability due to her track record of releasing murderers and rapists through her “Freedom Fund” in her 202o campaign, which is still in continuance today. In many interviews, Kamala is also known for her “word salads” which is when she rambles about stuff, not seeming to make sense.
Currently, Kamala is leading the polls against Trump by 1.6%, but will she be able to hold onto this lead?
