Layla Stevens is a freshman at Sahuaro High School. Before starting high school, she was homeschooled for several years and attended eighth grade in person for about five months. Adjusting to public school life has been a new experience, but she’s excited to see where it leads. She isn’t currently in any clubs or sports, but she has a growing list of things she’d like to try. Swimming and guitar are at the top of her list, and she’s also curious about playing volleyball. She enjoys learning new skills and exploring various activities, even if they fall outside her comfort zone. Layla didn’t choose to be in journalism, but now that she’s in the class, she’s interested in giving it a try. She hopes it will help her become less shy and improve her ability to communicate with people, and perhaps even encourage her to write more.
