A new year means a new iPhone hitting the shelves and everyone upgrading to it. iPhone 7 made it to the consumer’s hands on September 7th of 2016.

The new iPhone comes with some changes from its predecessors, such as no headphone jack, new colors, a better camera, and better hardware.

iPhone 7

Prices start at $649 for 32GB, $749 for 128GB, and $849 for 256GB of storage. There’s now five different colors to choose from: jet black, black, silver, gold, and rose gold; a 4.7-inch diagonal widescreen displaying at 1334-by-750 pixel resolution at 326 ppi;  and a new A10 fusion chip with 64-bit and embedded M10 motion co-processor. Also added, a newer camera with 12MP camera that shoots at f/1.8 aperture and a digital zoom of up to 5 times. It still has the same Fingerprint sensor built into the home button, stereo speaker built in the top front of the phone, a side button for just ring/silent and no headphone jack.  They removed the headphone jack and added a connector to plug in the charger port (lightning connector) if using a regular headphone jack. When bought, the box will come with a charger wire, a charger block, and EarPods with a lightning connector.

iPhone 7 plus

The biggest differences between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus is the screen. The screen is 5.5 inch diagonal screen with a resolution of 1920-by-1080 at 401 ppi. Another difference is the camera; it can shoot at a telephoto of f/2.8 aperture and a wide angle of f/1.8 aperture with a optical zoom of 2x and a digital zoom of 10x that is double of the iPhone 7.

After releasing a new phone, Apple usually puts up their sale numbers, but this year they did not.  Could this be because they’re embarrassed of the numbers, maybe they didn’t set a new record like they have always done for years since 2007 with their first iPhone coming out? Apple had their first revenue lost in April 2016 by an entire 18%.  Are they slowly declining with the leap of Samsung phones that hit the market over the past two years?
