As part of Trump’s war on the cartels and drug trafficking, Trump is placing more tariffs on Colombia to stop the spread of fentanyl and other dangerous drugs into the United States and to lower the amount of drug overdoses by force. Trump is clearly willing to do anything it takes, as shown by blowing up the boats that have alleged illegal drugs and are registered to cartel members, the most recent one “killing 3 people” according to Pete Hegseth, Secretary of War.
The Colombian president claims that Trump attacked an innocent fishing boat that was “fishing” in the Caribbean Sea, 400 miles away from the mainland, when most fishing boats only go a few hundred miles away from the mainland.
Now, no matter the fact that there are perhaps some better ways to inhibit drugs from entering the United States, no matter what you do, people are still not going to like it, and that’s deploying the National Guard and background checking the people who legally want to enter the United States. The deployment of the National Guard is a highly controversial subject, but crime rates are decreasing by roughly 10%.
The Colombian president has scolded Trump, saying that he bombed an innocent fishing boat even though the fishing boat was a few miles away from the designated fishing area for the Colombian government. The boat is also much bigger than most fishing boats found in that area of the Caribbean Sea. However, mistakes can be made if this were a mistake, then this is a huge mistake on our part.
