Diane Keaton, a very well-known and beloved filmmaker, author, and Oscar-winning actress, passed away at the age of 79. The Los Angeles Fire Department stated that they responded to Keaton’s home due to a call for medical assistance on October 11th, and she was later transported to the hospital, according to CNN News.
Keaton’s death was quickly reported by People Magazine and the New York Times, citing Dori Rath, who had produced some of Keaton’s popular films. “She declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everybody who loved her,” a friend told People Magazine.
The cause of death was later revealed on October 16th. Diane passed due to a battle with pneumonia. Sources close to the Oscar-winning actress said her health took a dramatic turn in the months before her death at the age of 79 on Saturday.
Diane was surrounded by her family and loved ones, who chose to keep things on the private end, but what we do know is that Diane lived a full, beautiful, and eventful life. Keaton was born in Los Angeles, California, on January 5th, 1946. Diane began working on her fame by starring in popular movies such as The Godfather and Play It Again. She later made her Broadway debut in the play Hair. Diane even won an Oscar for best actress for her role in Annie Hall. Keaton was also an extremely admirable person outside of her career, having adopted 2 kids as a single mother, as she chose to keep her independence and never marry. Hollywood and many of her previous co-stars mourn this unfortunate event, as she left a great and memorable legacy in the acting world.
