On Friday, September 19th, 29-year-old Tom Holland “cracked his head” in a failed stunt during the production of his upcoming film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. After his failed stunt, he had a mild concussion, and he was swiftly taken to the hospital shortly after. It was reported that no one else was injured on set.
In a report from Tom Holland after his hospitalization, he stated that he is “…taking a break from filming for several days.” A day after his injury, he made an appearance with his fiancée and co-star, Zendaya, at Christie’s auction house in London.
The filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day began in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 31st. This would make it Tom Holland’s fourth standalone film as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. This movie will pick up right after the events of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and just before the major upcoming film, many are excited for: Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased the film in July 2025. He then made a statement about how he feels about the film, “I think there’s a promise at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories, him being a proper Spider-Man,”.
The film will be centered around having Spider-Man face more street-level crimes and villains that many might recognize from the Spider-Man comics, villains such as Scorpion, played by Michael Mando, and The Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to be released in theaters on July 31st, 2026.
