The “normal” Fall Break routine often involves boredom, staying indoors, or “hibernating” all day, but this year, we’re flipping the script to make sure that this Fall is filled with nothing but fun and adventure!
First, we have Apple Annies. Although the place is an hour away from Sahuaro High School, it is worth the trip. There are so many things to do, such as pick fresh ripe fruits, buy extravagant gifts for your family, for you, or even for your neighbor. They have many items that scream Fall is here.
In addition, they have pies that you can win and take home with you! Unlike many other business websites, Apple Annie’s features a weather chart on their site. This helps visitors plan before they go. They have a page on their site that links to a 10-day forecast and other weather information for their location in Willcox, Arizona. Apple Annie’s open hours for the Fruit Orchard, Produce & Pumpkins, and the Country Store open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Next is the Trail Dust Town. It costs 3$ for treasure bags and rides, and the cost for admission is free! It’s just 10 minutes away from Sahuaro High School, located in Tanque Verde. There are Ferris wheels, carousels, and stunt shows. Trail Dust Town gives a mysterious, wild west vibe. They also have souvenirs and a place where you can take marvelous pictures. Trail Dust Town is a good place to hold events such as birthdays, weddings, and even picnics.
Trail Dust Town has 2 different places to dine. If you’re an early bird, they have just the right place, Millie’s Pancakes, open from 6:30 am to 2 pm. Around noon, they also have Pinnacle Peak, which opens from 4:30 pm to 9 pm. They have a courtyard, a miniature train, and even gold panning. Make sure to stop by!
Reid Park Boo at the Zoo is also hosting an event. It doesn’t start until the end of the month, but it’s really worth the wait. From October 23-26, 6-9 pm, kids can trick or treat in the zoo while seeing the animals. They also have characters coming, such as princesses, pirates, and even heroes. It’s for all ages 2 and up. Kids under the age of 2 are free. The tickets are 16$ for adults and seniors, 14$ for kids 14 to 2 years of age. You can also buy the tickets online or when you’re at the event. So put on your favorite costume and join the fun!
Finally, there is Tucson’s Meet Yourself Festival. It’s about traditions, creativity, and more. They have a variety of food choices from different cultures. They have food from Peru, Argentina, the Middle East, West Africa, you name it. This festival is also child-friendly with beautiful art, dancing, and live performances. They have it all!
