Vinsent Lescarbeau, known to his friends as Vinny, is an ambitious 18-year-old senior at Sahuaro who has spent his four years of high school shaping his education and future goals with purpose and determination. Driven by a strong work ethic and a passion for learning, Vinny aspires to pursue a career either as a professional chef or within the skilled trades, such as a blue-collar worker. His primary dream, however, is to enter the culinary world and learn to be the best chef he can. A goal he intends to achieve by attending the University of Arizona after he graduates from Sahuaro, where he plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts.
Vinny’s enthusiasm for cooking was sparked early on during his time at Sahuaro. Having enrolled in Mr. Aaron’s culinary program as a sophomore, he quickly discovered a passion for the art.
“I love cooking birria the most because of the way it perfectly falls apart.”
Over the course of three years, the class became more than just an elective. The patience, creativity, and teamwork required in a multi-chef kitchen inspired him deeply, shaping not only his career ambitions but also his personal friendships he developed on the way.
Although culinary arts are at the forefront of his goal, Vinny has developed a well-rounded set of interests and hobbies. Outside the classroom, he enjoys football and is also an avid airsoft enthusiast, finding adrenaline-filled sports most find overwhelming. These hobbies display his active and busy lifestyle outside of the already busy school schedule.
Beyond school activities and hobbies, Vinny has an impressive work ethic through his two unique and demanding jobs. At Fine Arca, he works on construction projects, gaining valuable life experience in craftsmanship. At Velo Drum, he helps construct professional cycling tracks. Many of which are used by competitive athletes and even Olympians. Family and community also play a central role in Vinny’s life. He deeply values his two siblings and the close friendships he has built at Sahuaro.
Among his favorite school memories are attending Winter Formal dances, sharing memorable lunches with friends, and participating in the Cougar Foundation alongside one of his most influential and favorite teachers, Mr. Aaron.
As Vinny prepares to graduate, he carries forward a balance of hard work, passion, and loyalty. Whether in the kitchen, on a construction site, or surrounded by family and friends, he’s always a hard-working, highly valued friend.
