Our beloved, very memorable class of 2026 is starting their very anticipated senior year! Our Seniors are extremely excited and ready to start the early celebration, coming together for all of the fun activities awaiting us. Although it is a very bittersweet feeling for many, ” If you think about it, we kind of all grew up together,” senior Layla Rivera says.
The Seniors have three painting dates scheduled this year; the first date was August 16th. It started at 7:00 am and ended at 10:00 am. It was a warm, sunny morning, and our seniors were excited to start this project. There was music, family, laughter, and friends surrounding the seniors, and it was a beautiful get-together for our class of 2026. Our favorite science teachers, Mrs. Trujillo and Mr. Lopez, also joined us, and our yearbook club, which thankfully caught many of these great memories.
For our seniors’ second date, on August 23rd, it included the senior sunrise along with another painting date. Our students rose bright and early and all met on the football field at 5:00 am. The student council provided cute posters, donuts, and juice. The weather was perfect, everyone brought blankets, and we all took plenty of pictures. “I had trouble getting up that early, but I’m glad I did,” Lillian Lucero said. Around 7:30, everyone started back up painting their spots, and while most of them finished their spots, some students didn’t. There will be a next date this Saturday, the 31st, at 7:00 am again. After this, you’ll be able to take a look at our parking lot and see all of the creativity and uniqueness we take pride in here at Sahuaro High School.
