The wrestling world was forever changed when Hulk Hogan entered the industry. He took wrestling as a whole and single-handedly made it a mainstream way of entertainment. But Hulk Hogan was more than just a great wrestler. Terry Gene Bollea, Hogan’s real name, was a loving husband and father to his two children, Brooke and Nick Hogan. Hogan had 3 wives in his life, the first being the mother of his two children, with whom he was married from 1983 to 2009. He then married Jennifer McDaniel from 2010 to 2021, which led to his current, now widowed, wife, Sky Daily.
On July 24th, 2025, Hogan died of acute myocardial infarction, also known as a heart attack, at his home in Clearwater, Florida. At the age of 71, Hogan had won 6 WWE/WWF chamionships, WCW World Hevyweight Championship 6 times, won the WWE Tag Team Championship, won back to back Royal Rumbles in 1990 and 1991, was Wrestler of The Year three times, (1987, 1991, 1994), was ranked #1 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s top 500 singles wrestlers 1991 and 2003. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and 2020, first for his singles career and then for his involvement with the New World Order. He held championships in New Japanese Pro Wrestling and was inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in 2003. He entered the NJPW MSG Tag League Tournament in 1982 and 1983, winning both times with his tag partner, Antonio Inoki.
All of the above are just some of the awards Hulk Hogan gained throughout his 35-year pro wrestling career, not including the awards received after his retirement. To put it simply, Hulk Hogan is renowned worldwide as the greatest wrestler of all time, even among fellow WWE wrestlers.
“He was the archetype of what it meant to be a ‘Superstar’ – a global sensation that inspired millions to work hard at whatever it was they wanted to accomplish, and a look that made him recognizable to fans around the world.” Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque- Chief content officer of WWE and also wrestled alongside Hogan- said via his post on Instagram. Levesque goes on to say, “…As a Real American or the leader of one of the industry’s biggest factions, he transcended and elevated the entire business to heights never before seen – in every country and on every continent.”
Hogan’s funeral was held on August 5th, 2025. It was a private funeral at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, Florida. However, many memorials were held for him, including multiple memorial services held in his honor on Monday Night Raw and NXT.
Hulk Hogan will forever be remembered as a legend among his fans, peers, colleagues, and even his enemies. He will be deeply missed within the wrestling community and by many others. But no matter what, don’t forget, “Train, say your prayers, and eat your vitamins.”- Hulk Hogan.
