As a senior at Sahuaro High School, Honey Andrews is gearing up for the next chapter of her life, filled with big dreams and exciting plans. Honey, a student who loves reading, bunnies, video games, and movies, has fully embraced her time at Sahuaro. But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. Like many seniors, Honey has faced her challenges along the way.
Her interests outside of school have allowed her to connect with others who share similar hobbies, but she’s also involved in activities that push her to grow; she’s in Sahuaro’s Book Club and plays tennis. These extracurricular activities have provided a welcome break from the hardship of school life and a chance to bond with her peers.
When reflecting on the challenges of her senior year, Honey is honest about her struggles. “Procrastination has been so hard for me,” she admits. However, Honey’s ability to turn this weakness into a strength is admirable. “Instead of waiting, I get it done immediately so I don’t have to worry about it.” This approach has helped her stay on track with her coursework and avoid the stress that comes with procrastination.
Looking back at her high school journey, Honey has valuable advice for underclassmen. “Have fun, do stuff with your friends, and be serious about your grades,” she advises. “Depending on what you want to do, time does go by so fast.”
After graduation, Honey has clear goals. “I plan on going to college and finding a career in childcare,” she says. Honey’s passion for working with children is what drives her forward, and she’s excited to make a difference in their lives. But as she prepares to leave Sahuaro behind, there are a few things she’ll miss. “I think I’ll miss seeing my friends and hanging out with them every day,” she reflects. These everyday moments with her friends have been an important part of her high school experience.
Outside of school, Honey is part of a large, loving family. She has three cats, one dog, and ten siblings! With such a big family, there’s never a dull moment, and Honey values the close relationships she has with them.
As Honey prepares for the next chapter, she carries with her the lessons learned from high school, her extracurricular activities, and her supportive family. The future is bright for this driven young woman, and there’s no doubt she’ll make a meaningful impact on the world around her.
