Keonte Emerson is beyond committed to her education and community. Born in Agana Heights, Guam, Keonte’s upbringing was shaped by a military family, leading her to experience life around the globe, including the UK, Kansas, and Arizona. The journey has given her a multicultural perspective.
Keonte has one older sister, and her family plays an important role in her life. She is engaged and calls her partner her best friend, showing the depth of their bond. They share their home with a dog named Kai and two cats, Helo and Mya, making for a lively household filled with love.
Her professional journey includes her time currently learning at the Pima Adult Education Center, where she dedicates her efforts to helping adults obtain their GED. This experience fueled her passion for education and community, which has led her to Sahuaro. Having attended Sahuaro for sports games in the past, she was drawn to the energetic atmosphere and decided it would be a great place to work. Her current position as Administrative Secretary in the counseling office is demanding and keeps her busy, but she has acclimated to her new environment, having to learn fast. Whenever a student wants to set up an appointment with their counselor, change their schedule, or have some general questions, she will usually be the one to schedule the appointment for that.
So far, her favorite aspect of Sahuaro has been the staff. Keonte appreciates the welcoming and supportive environment they have created, which has made her transition into the role smooth and enjoyable. Keonte said, “Mrs. Bradley was one of many people who was so helpful to me when I first got here, so I really appreciate it.” For example, she often finds herself asking questions and seeking clarification, and the staff’s kindness has made a lasting impression on her.
For her education, Keonte attended Cienega High School and is currently pursuing a Communications degree at the University of Arizona, with a minor that aligns with her interests – creative writing. Keonte said, “I love writing and the experience that I am getting, not just at the U of A but at Sahuaro as well.” Her dedication to both her studies and her work at Sahuaro is reflected in her personal growth and her positive impact here. Keonte Emerson is a passionate person who loves her family and education. Her journey through different places and experiences has shaped her into the person she is today, and she continues to strive for excellence in all aspects of her life.

I had run into an issue with the school, and she worked extremely well with me and made it very easy to solve. She seems very genuine and she’s very sweet and calm.
