Going on its 82nd year, The Golden Globes annually presents an award ceremony for film and TV. The Golden Globes are usually the first award show of the year, so winning a Golden Globe can help with the winners’ campaign for nominations for other awards throughout the year. Actor Nikki Glaser hosted this year’s show on January 5th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. She made history as the first female solo host. Nikki was recently nominated for an Emmy for her comedy special, Someday You’ll Die. Glaser led with jokes roping in people such as P. Diddy, Timothée Chalamet, Adam Sandler, Glen Powell, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, Nicole Kidman, Adrien Brody, Selena Gomez, and many others.
For the 2nd year, Nobu Restaurants prepared food for this distinguished event. Head Chef Nobu Matsuhisa has dishes such as yellowtail jalapenos, sashimi salad, black cod and three pieces of tuna, white fish and salmon sushi, and his signature dish, The Gold Standard Roll prepared for guests. Matsuhisa’s signature dish contains sushi with king crab inside, salmon on the top, gold flakes and caviar, and yuzu sauce on the side.
When it comes to nominations, The Bear led in TV with 5, and Emilia Pérez led in all categories with 10. Denzel Washington has also become the most nominated Black performer with his 11th nomination. And for the 4th year in a row, Steve Martin is nominated for Best Television Actor in a Comedy or Musical.
When Zendaya took the red carpet, a blinged-out band on her left ring finger sparked the hottest question of the night: Are Zendaya Coleman and Tom Holland engaged? Zendaya had an outfit change throughout the night, and while she removed all her jewelry, she didn’t remove this ring. Zendaya also showed off a sneak peek of her “t” tattoo below her underarm.
