Please remember the following information about the upcoming ASVAB test at Sahuaro:
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test will be administered on Friday, September 27th, starting at 8:15 am. Students in 10th-12th grades are eligible to take the test. The deadline for registration is this Friday, September 20th. You can register for the test by visiting this link.
According to Mr. Hanes, SHS’s College and Career Counselor, this test is required for those who want to join the military. He says, “It is also important for your future career as it will help categorize and determine the best career path for you.”
There are two versions of the ASVAB test:
1. CAT-ASVAB: This is a computerized adaptive test that adjusts according to your answers. It is shorter than the pen-and-paper version and takes around 3 1/2 hours to complete. You can complete the CAT-ASVAB at your own pace without waiting for others to finish certain sections.
2. P&P-ASVAB: This is the traditional pen and paper version where everyone receives the same set of questions with time limits for each section. It takes around 3 hours to complete.
The test will cover the following sections:
– General Science (GS)
– Arithmetic Reasoning (AR)
– Word Knowledge (WK)
– Paragraph Comprehension (PC)
– Mathematics Knowledge (MK)
– Electronics Information (EI)
– Auto Information (AI)
– Shop Information (SI)
– Mechanical Comprehension (MC)
– Assembling Objects (AO)
Good luck and do your best!
