Senior, Marley Gandee, has been a journalist for The Paper Cut since her freshman year.  This is her second year as Editor-in-Chief.  She loves writing and editing articles, interviewing students and staff, and photography. Her favorite articles to report on at Sahuaro are football games and human interest stories. This summer she attended Arizona Girls State, where she furthered her passion for politics. As for the future, Marley has several different career paths she wants to follow. She wants to first make a name for herself as a political journalist before venturing into running for a political office. Mar, as she likes to be called, enjoys listening to many different genres of music; some of her favorite bands/artists include CCR, The Rolling Stones, ABBA, Toby Mac, and Ben Rector.  As for this year, she is excited to graduate, write countless more articles in The Paper Cut, and run cross country and track.  

Sophomore, Lynnea Montgomery, is giving The Paper Cut a second try this year. She initially joined newspaper to improve her social and literary skills, but after her first year, she realized how fond she is of the newsroom's warm and exciting environment. Lynnea enjoys spending time with her family and going out with her friends. She is absolutely addicted to spending her money, whether it be on food or clothes; consequently, she cannot hold onto a single paycheck. Aside from spending, she also loves reading and watching anime in her downtime. Lynnea was born and raised in Tucson and has a love-hate relationship with the city, dependent on the season and weather. She hopes to pass this year with flying colors and get involved. As for career paths, Lynnea envisions herself attending college with a major in law and a minor in psychology. As for this year, Lynnea is going to do her best in everything she applies herself to and make the most of this year.

Senior, Tatum Crawford, joined The Paper Cut last year to grow her interpersonal and writing skills. Tatum enjoys traveling and sightseeing, especially with her mom, who she is very close to as it was just her and her mom for 12 years. Her ideal places to visit are Milan and Florence, where she found an appreciation for the food and art. She enjoys art museums, her favorite ones being the Louvre and the Uffizi Gallery. Tatum plays many games, especially Animal Crossing and Legend Of Zelda. She adores taking pictures; she has over 30,000 photos on her phone - most of them being travel and cat photos. Family is also super important to Tatum. She loves visiting her family in Mississippi and spending time with them. She has family scattered all around the world, including eighteen siblings. She's only met about four so far but would be interested in meeting the rest. Out of all of them, she is the youngest, as they are in their late twenties. When she graduates, Tatum wants to move to Seattle with her older sister to attend her dream college - the University of Washington. Her other option is NAU. Regardless of where she goes, she wants to study medicine.  

Gianna is a strong, well-spoken, independent woman. She is a junior in high school with a 3.4 GPA. She has admirable goals for herself that she wishes to obtain. She is on the Sahuaro varsity volleyball team. She is also in Black Student Union and is the treasurer for the club at Sahuaro High School. She is taking an Honors class and an AP class to better her chances of getting into college. She wants to go to California and play volleyball in college out there. She was born in Tucson, Arizona but all her family lives in New York.

Wynter Nye is a freshman here at Sahuaro High School. She is the oldest of 3 kids; she has two younger brothers ages 9 years and 10 months. She loves to hang out with her friends and write stories and is currently working on publishing one of her older books from 2020 with help from her grandmother. When she's not doing either of those things, she is sleeping or watching TV; her favorite show is The Summer I Turned Pretty or American Housewife. When Wynter is older, she wants to be a pediatric nurse because she has always loved helping little kids in need due to family experiences.  She has been earning money from TikTok since July 2022, and she loves to shop online with the money she earns.  You will ALWAYS catch her buying things off either Amazon or Shein, her two favorite online stores. She is very kind and shy, but she doesn't play around when it comes to people being disrespectful to her friends, family, or herself.
