Sahuaro is hosting a blood drive to donate blood to the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross is a nonprofit humanitarian organization that aids in disaster relief, emergency assistance, and life-threatening health conditions.
The American Red Cross’s blood supply has been slowly declining since August and blood distributions are outnumbering the received blood donations. Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and just one donation can save 3 lives. With the current national blood shortage, every donation counts. Nick Trujillo, junior, is running the blood drive. “Your blood donation would go to hospitals to help patients in need,” he said. “If you donate you will also get a free $10 Amazon E-gift card and a free t-shirt.” So if you weren’t convinced already…maybe that will help persuade you!
If you are interested in donating, the blood drive will take place in the practice gym here at Sahuaro on Friday, October 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You can schedule your appointment by scanning the QR code on one of the flyers hanging around the school or by visiting redcrossblood.org and using the sponsor code: SAHUAROHS.
If you have any additional inquiries about restrictions or more details on the process, you can visit redcrossblood.org or visit Ms. Trujillo in room 108.
