Many Colleen Hoover fans were unhappy that Colleen had picked older actors as the book’s characters. Hoover explained in June of 2023 that she had chosen more mature actors because making the book’s characters younger was a mistake. When she was writing the book, she did not know that neurosurgeons had to go to school for so long. “There’s not a 20-something neurosurgeon,” she said.
It Ends with Us tells the story of Lily Bloom, a young woman caught in an ear-shattering relationship with Ryle Kincaid, a charismatic and successful neurosurgeon.
