Covid’s Changed A Lot In the Past Three Years
February 14, 2023
COVID-19 is a name that every person in the world knows. When it was first discovered, it was considered to be just a slightly more dangerous flu, but within a couple of months, it had spread to every corner of the earth. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and runny nose. It became one of the most terrifying diseases practically overnight.
As of February 1st, 2023, there have been over 750 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 around the world and more than 6.8 million deaths. It became the third highest cause of death behind cancer and heart disease and now… people barely talk about it.
People used to be super concerned when you mentioned that a family member has COVID-19, but nowadays people say it almost off-handedly and people won’t even mention it. When the COVID-19 vaccines were made, people got the vaccine and proceeded to forget COVID-19. In the summer of 2020, almost every news and social media site had a specific column always covering COVID-19 news. Now, while some news sites still have that, a lot of them are completely gone.
Unfortunately, just because people have stopped talking about it, it doesn’t mean it is gone. In December of 2022, there was a massive surge in the number of COVID-19 cases – yet COVID-19 is still barely being discussed. Sadly, it is still out there and we should still take some precautions against it. The best way to avoid contracting COVID-19 is by wearing a mask and staying six feet away from everyone. Stay safe everyone.
