Leslie Jordan, comedian, influencer, and actor, died in a car accident on October 24th, 2022 at the age of 67. 

According to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Lizeth Lomeli, Jordan was driving a BMW when he struck the side of a building at Cahuenga Boulevard and Romaine Street at 9:30 in the morning. The acclaimed actor and author was declared deceased on the scene. There was a suspected medical emergency.

Leslie Jordan was known for helping people on social media during the pandemic by posting entertaining videos on his Instagram account. He had 5.8 million followers who’d listen to his stories for his roles in Will and Grace, and American Horror Story. 

His career officially took off in 1966 after he first appeared in The Fall Guy. His diminutive size and Southern drawl instantly made him noticeable in the field. In the film The Help, he played Mr. Blackly, the newspaper editor.

Some members of the LGBTQ+ community called Jordan a symbol of the “lost generation” of gay men. On the show Will & Grace, which itself broke significant limits for its time in its representation of homosexual men on network television, though mostly white and cisgender, Jordan’s character eventually comes out as gay.
