The rapper who is known as PnB Rock, age 30, was shot and killed on September 12, 2022, while eating at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in Los Angeles, with his girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang. It is believed he was targeted for the robbery because of his jewelry. Around 1:15 p.m., the men had a dispute, and the armed suspect demanded the jewelry before shooting and killing PnB Rock. The suspect was seen by witnesses taking his jewelry off of him before fleeing into the car. He was pronounced dead 45 minutes later, at 1:59 P.M. 

Before the robbery, his girlfriend made an Instagram post with their location tagged in it. It has since been deleted from her account.

Chief Michel Moore stated this about PnB Rock, he “was with his family — with his girlfriend or some kind of friend of his — and as they’re there, enjoying a simple meal, [he] was brutally attacked by an individual who apparently [came] to the location after a social media posting.”

PnB Rock, whose real name is Rakim Hasheem Allen, grew up in the neighborhood Germantown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The rapper is best known for his 2016 single Selfish, which peaked at no. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100.  During his career, he collaborated with many other artists including, Chance the Rapper, Ed Sheeran, and YFN Lucci.

Everyday We Lit was a song collaboration in 2016 with PnB Rock and YFN Lucci. It peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100, a new record for both artists.

He believed robberies in the rap industry were common, so PnB Rock avoided going to nightclubs because he knew that he could potentially fall into being prey to a robbery.  “I’m not going to put myself in those situations because I know what happens in those situations,” he said. LAPD’s investigation of the rapper’s case is still ongoing.
