April 1, 2022
This weekend, April 1st – 3rd, there is a variety of events going on for everyone to enjoy in Tucson. There are events such as performances, shopping, food vendors, and even a chance to camp overnight.
The largest event is the 4th Avenue Spring Street Fair which has been around for 52 years in Tucson. This free, 3-day event brings over 350,000 people and artists from around the world to 4th Avenue twice a year. There will be hundreds of artists and vendors selling a huge variety of merchandise. There will be many live music performances, entertainment, and food vendors all up and down the fair. The fair opens from 10 am to dusk. There is a free shuttle service from 9 am to 6 pm daily from the Pennington Street Garage.
There will also be the 37th Annual Tucson Folk Festival, also in downtown Tucson. It is free but they will be accepting donations. It is a celebration of Americana/Folk traditions with many varieties of music including Blues, country, jazz, American Bluegrass, Latin, and Mexican. There will be many crafts, arts, and activities for the whole family.
On Saturday, the 2nd there will be a car show at Little Anthony’s Diner. This event is in the evening from 6 pm-9 pm and it is located at 7010 E. Broadway Blvd. There will be a free jumping castle, trophies, prizes, and free giveaways. They will, of course, have food available for purchase inside the restaurant, and they will also have a grill outside.
There is also a day and overnight camping event in North Tucson at the Catalina State Park called the Tucson Juggling Festival. There will be lots of outdoor fun, including juggling, eating, hiking, even more juggling, and a potluck. It will be great time for everyone to enjoy our great Tucson weather. It costs $15 per vehicle for overnight camping, or $7 per vehicle for the day.
