The San Diego Zoo is one of the best and largest zoos in the U.S. It’s home to the largest plant collections of rare and endangered animals. It has housed over 2,000 animals of more than 650 specifies and subspecies on 100 acres. It has been open since 1916.

Tickets start off at $62 per person and kids from the ages of 3-11 are free for the month of October. It’s great for kids and has tons of activities including a bus tour of 70% of the animals. The Kangaroo Bus has an amazing driver named Rosa as well as face painting, the sky ferry, etc.

This Zoo was extremely welcoming with friendly employees. It’s recommended to go early; the zoo opens at at 9am and closes at 9pm.
