Reality Star Caitlyn Jenner Running For California Governor
May 7, 2021
Reality star, former Olympian, and prominent transgender activist, Caitlyn Jenner, Republican, announced Friday that she will be running for Governor of the state of California and her competitor will be Gov. Gavin Newsom of California in this year’s recall election. Ms Jenner thinks that the Covid-19 restrictions have been over restrictive in California and that children have lost a year of education, and she thinks that the taxes are way too high and that is killing jobs and hurting many families and small businesses.
Gov. Newsom, a Democrat, has received some hate recently and there is talk about how he is handling the pandemic. He was recently caught by the paparazzi at a dinner in a private dining room with no one wearing masks: the lobbyists we’re not masked, not even the governor, so many people have their opinions on this situation but there are still many that are still rooting for him and no other Democrat has entered the race to run for Governor. Many elected Democrats have said over and over that they will stick by Gov. Newsom and they will be helping him gain his support among Latino, Asian, and Black voters.
Ms. Jenner might have some trouble with this election, a recent poll from the Public Policy Institute of California found just 40 percent of voters in the state of California supported the recall and more than half are supporting Gov. Newsom’s performance. Ms Jenner has been working with a group of GOP strategists and Brad Parscale who ran for former President Donald Trump’s 2020 quest for reelection. Jenner released: “California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone regardless of their background or station in life could turn their dreams into reality but for the past decade we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people, Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision.” Ms Jenner has described herself in her announcement as a fighter and someone who wants change, criticizing Gov Newsom’s impact on the Golden State. If this re election was to happen and it is not certain yet it would happen this Fall.
