Polo G Still On ‘The Come Up’
April 22, 2021
Chicago rapper Polo G has been consistently gaining traction in the rap game since he released his second studio album ‘The Goat’ in May of 2020, but his latest song ‘Rapstar’ might have put him into that next level. It’s even given controversial song, ‘Montero’, a run for its money on the UK charts. It debuted at No. 2 on the OCC’s First Look chart. This list gauges the most popular singles after the first 48 hours in the cycle. It’s also predicted to go #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In the song he talks about life as a superstar. Both the good and bad. Reminiscing on how life used to be, the luxuries that come with being in the spotlight, and having to put on a facade in public. Even talking about the comparisons to Tupac that he’s so often heard. With a feature from social media star Einer Banks on the ukulele, ‘Rapstar’ is on pace to become the 22-year-old rapper’s highest charting single to date.
Polo G is, personally, my favorite up and coming rapper. Many other people feel this way as well, and this song is definitely going to have more people hopping on the Polo G hype train.
