With COVID-19 being here for over a year, we are all very desperate for this to be resolved and done with already. One way we could fix that is by getting our vaccinations. On Monday, officials said that starting on Wednesday there are going to be three state-run mass vaccination sites in Maricopa County, being Farm Stadium, Phoenix Municipal Stadium and Chandler – Gilbert Community College, and including one in Pima County at the University of Arizona. Governor Doug Ducey said, “Our goal has been and remains to get the vaccine into the community as quickly, widely and equitably as possible.” There were about 60,000 appointments available as of Monday morning. Each Friday, at 11 A.M., the state also releases a batch for the appointments of the following week.

The state-run sites will have the Pfizer vaccines, which require you to have two doses, and have been approved for people 16 years and older, Arizona Health Director Dr. Cara Christ said, “We anticipate more and more vaccines reaching Arizona heading into April making it possible now to expand prioritizing.” The Arizona Department of Health Services dashboard shows that 2,904,159 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been provided in the state, with 1,831,456 people which is 25.5 % of the state’s population have gotten at least one shot and 1,136,413 people fully vaccinated.
