The Nike Go FlyEase
February 5, 2021
Nike has announced the creation of a shoe that could change the future of sneakers forever, the Nike Go FlyEase. The Go FlyEase is a sneaker that can be put on hands-free. It could make life easier for everyone, from athletes with disabilities to just people that want to get out of the door faster. To put it on all you have to do is step into the shoe and it’ll close around your foot.
Bebe Vio, an Italian fencer, who lost both her arms and legs to meningitis at a young age, uses prosthetics legs to walk. Putting on shoes is difficult thing for her to do. “Usually I spend so much time to get in my shoes,” Vito said, “With the Nike Go FlyEase, I just need to put my feet in and jump on it. The shoes are a new kind of technology, not only for adaptive athletes but for everyone’s real life.”
Sarah Reinertsen, a member of the FlyEase design team as well as a Paralympic athlete, said pregnant women, people with disabilities, and busy parents were among those who inspired the concept of the shoe. The $120 sneaker will be available in limited quantities on February 15. It will later be made more available later this year, according to Nike.
The FlyEase could truly change the future of sneakers. Not only does it make life easier for people and athletes with disabilities, it makes life easier for everyday people.
