Atlanta Rapper 6 Dogs Dead At 21
January 29, 2021
21-year-old Atlanta rapper, Chase Amick, better known as his stage name – 6 Dogs, has died of an apparent suicide. He was best known for his song ‘Faygo Dreams’, which grew in popularity after becoming viral on TikTok.
His battle with Covid last July could have contributed to his decrease in mental health. It forced him to delay his album, which he never got to release. He hasn’t released any music to major streaming services since May 6th of 2020.
One of his last social media posts was on November 16th. The tweet was a screenshot of an Instagram post that said, “If you have friends in the music biz call them and check on them. This rat race that we all are in is not cool. Some days I feel like a superhero who can take over the world and some days I just wanna cry and quit.” There aren’t any other apparent signs of his depression on social media.
He originally found fame from his Soundcloud account in 2016. His music had the generic “Soundcloud sound” to it. Everything from the beats, to the melodies, to the lyrics tells you that he started making music on Soundcloud.
Having a viral song on TikTok often brings a lot of success for upcoming artists now. He was very much on the come-up with his music, so the fact that he took his own life is extra tragic knowing that he was truly on the cusp of making it big time in the music industry.
