Two teams, both deserving of the title and both yearning to call themselves champions, but only one gets the trophy at the end of the fourth quarter, the emotionally draining yet vigorously exciting day known as…Super Bowl Sunday. The day where family and friends gather together, regardless of which team they’re rooting for, and watch as two incredible teams who, keep in mind, worked extremely hard to make it this far, play all-American football. Family members argue as nail-biting, heart racing, sweaty faced individuals carefully watch while others are hair-pulling and jumping up and down with endless excitement. These moments will forever be known as Super Bowl Sunday.

On February 2 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, the Kansas City Chiefs went head-to-head with the San-Francisco 49ers in an all-out brawl. These two teams both have the best offense including the two most athletic quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs and Jimmy Garoppolo for the 49ers. At only 24-years-old, Patrick Mahomes was able to lead his team to victory along with his coach, Andy Reid, who celebrated his first Super Bowl win in over 50 years! On the other hand, hundreds of 49ers fans were devastated by the results and the 11 point loss between the two teams, 49ers 20 and Chiefs 31 as the final score. Some might even say that the 49ers ending up handing the win to the Chiefs in the third quarter, however as a devoted 49er, I believe that it was all the nerves. Either way, I’m no longer upset knowing that the Chiefs truly deserve all the credit for playing an amazing game where they fought to come back in the fourth quarter.

In the end, the Kansas City Chiefs took the dub, a swarm of family members, reporters, and of course the coach and his team flooded the field as big yellow and red fireworks exploded in the sky. Confetti was thrown and tears were falling down the faces of everyone that night, tears of joy and happiness knowing that after 50 years the Chiefs can finally enjoy that sweet, sweet win.
