Ways You Can Help Save The Earth
April 16, 2019
We are slowly killing this planet, it’s time to give back. Earth Day is coming up on Monday, April 22. Earth Day is a very special day to show your love and appreciation for the planet. Although you should always be kind to the planet, there are so many little things you can do to better the environment and help save the Earth. Here are some new habits you can try:
Plant Something
Plant a tree. Trees clean our air and give us fresh oxygen, trees also improve air quality, climate amelioration, conserve water, preserve soil, and support wildlife. Another option is to plant your own fruits and veggies. This will benefit your health and reduce the amount of fossil fuel emissions by not having to transport the food to stores.
Ride Your Bike
If you live close enough to school, ditch the car and ride your bike to and from school. Riding your bike means less gas such as carbon dioxide in the air that can contribute to global warming. It’s not only better for the environment to ride a bike instead of driving a car, but it is also great for your body. If you don’t live close then try carpooling or riding the bus, the fewer cars on the road the better.
Buy Reusable Bags
Americans use about 100 billion plastic bags a year, the production alone for those requires about 12 million barrels of oil. Plastic bags also take up a lot of space in landfills and cause a lot of problems for marine life. Instead, buy reusable bags for when you go to the store.
Spend Time Outside
Lots of the time we get so caught up on our electronics in our bedrooms, we forget about how nice it can be to just go outside. Earth Day is just a reminder of how beautiful our planet is! Most outdoor activities are free, so this is a great way to spend time with friends and just be in the moment. You can go to the park or the pool or just take a breath of fresh air. Just go outside, show some love and respect to the planet we call home.
