Another Patriots Scandal
March 6, 2019
Less than a month after Super Bowl LIII, the New England Patriots are involved in yet another scandal. This time it involves their owner, Robert Kraft. Kraft allegedly solicited prostitution in a Florida day spa. The spa, Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, Florida, was being investigated for several months because of a human trafficking probe.
Kraft was seen on camera twice on January 19 and 20, hours before the Patriots AFC Championship game win, at the day spa with a worker. Kraft was seen paying cash to a lady at the front desk and then was taken to a back room where the sexual activity took place. After the activity was finished, Kraft was seen handing the woman at least $100 before leaving. Police say that they could not speak on the amount of time that Kraft spent at the day spa, but their is enough evidence to say that he was a regular patron. Kraft is just one of 25 people arrested for prostitution charges at the day spa.
If convicted Robert Kraft could face a jail sentence of up to one year plus a $5,000 fine, 100 hours of community service and mandatory attendance at a class on the dangers of prostitution and human trafficking. Two of the spa employees have been arrested as well for deriving support from prostitution, maintaining a house for prostitution, and offering to commit prostitution.
