With all the hype surrounding the big game, many people were disappointed by the game as a whole, and by the outcome. Super Bowl LIII (53) was the New England Patriots versus the Los Angeles Rams. All season long the football writers and analysts said the Patriots did not have another title in them this year. However, Patriots played their best football when it mattered and ended up winning it all to give Tom Brady his 6th Super Bowl victory which is the most all time.

The big game started off very well for the Patriots early on, as they were able to get the running game going by neutralizing the Rams two top defensive linemen, Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh. The Patriots first drive ended without any scoring as the Rams defense intercepted the first pass attempt by Tom Brady. The Patriots defense showed up to play too as following the interception, they forced the Rams into a quick three and out. Patriots drove the ball down the field almost with ease again, but were forced to make a field goal attempt. Although. Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed the field goal. The Patriots defense neutralized the strong offense of the Rams and continuously got pressure to the young Rams quarterback making him uncomfortable in the pocket. At the end of the first half, the Patriots had the lead 3-0. It was the second lowest scoring half in Super Bowl history.

The defensive battle started again in the third quarter as the Rams were able to tie it up at 3 a piece. The Patriots took complete control in the 4th quarter however, and were finally able to get momentum. They scored a touchdown to gain the lead late in the game 10-3. The Rams were driving the ball well, but Stephen Gilmore intercepted Rams quarterback Jared Goff. The Patriots had success driving the ball down the field yet again and kicked a field goal to make it a two possession game with barely over a minute left in the game.  The Patriots held on and won the low scoring affair, 13-3.

The Patriots are now in a tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowls all time. Wide Receiver Julian Edelman won Super Bowl MVP as he had ten catches for 141 yards.
