What Happens When You Reboil Water
If you have good, pure distilled deionized water, nothing bad will happen if you reboil it. Although, regular ordinary water is shown to dissolve gasses and minerals that may be harmful to your health. The chemistry of the water changes when you boil it because of volatile compounds and dissolved gasses. If you boil the water too long or reboil it, you can risk getting some undesirable chemicals in your water.
Does Reboiling Water Cause Cancer?
Studies show that reboiling water can certainly lead to getting cancer. While the boiled water is fine, increasing some toxic substances can put you at risk of some illnesses, including cancer. Intakes of nitrates have been linked to methemoglobinemia(where your red blood cells can carry oxygen but are not able to release it effectively to body tissues) and also certain types of cancer. Even “healthy” minerals can lead to dangerous levels. Intakes of calcium salt can lead to kidney stones, hardening of the arteries, arthritis, and gallstones.
