Allegations came out that he supposedly sexually assaulted a woman named Christine Blasey Ford around thirty years ago. The Senate judiciary hearings were lengthy and very controversial, but in the end Kavanaugh was confirmed.

North Korea sent two figure skaters to the games with a delegation. There was speculation about North Korea only doing this to get some of the positive limelight that South Korea was getting from the games. The event over all went well and since that point tensions have decreased.
