Junior Itzel Maytorena was inspired into designing her own Instagram makeup page. She also goes live on Instagram and Facebook to show others her talent on doing makeup, with hopes for planning her own future Youtube channel soon. She hopes she can inspire other people by making videos on how to do eye shadow, contour/concealing, eyebrows, and more.

Itzel has always been interested in makeup. She was allowed to practice doing makeup when she was in 8th grade but she wasn’t allowed to actually wear makeup until she turned 15, her sophomore year. She recalls sitting in the bathroom at her house or in her mom and sister’s rooms, applying makeup with them. Itzel’s way of getting her mind off things was by practicing her art. She said, “I like it because it’s a way to let my creativity show and helps me be stress free. It’s my therapy to do my makeup.” Itzel usually spends up to about $100 dollars on her makeup and she puts it on daily. She has two different looks, like a natural look or a dramatic look, it just depends on how she feels that day. She feels like when she puts on makeup she feels more confident in how she looks, which makes her feel good about herself.

Itzel looks up to two famous Youtuber’s that do makeup. One of them is Manny MUA (Manuel Gutierrez), and the other Youtuber is Louie’s Life (Louie Castro). She also watches 40 second makeup-inspired videos on Instagram. Itzel was inspired to do something that not a lot of people are able to do-show themselves to the world with something they love doing. One day she hopes she will inspire others and become something to talk about out in the world.
