“Code V” means someone has vomited and “Code U” signals urine for the custodial staff at Disney theme parks, but “HEPA cleanup” is code for “a park guest has scattered the cremated ashes of a loved one somewhere in the park.” The workers uses a vacuum cleaner to clean up the mess, meaning the ashes just end up sucked into dirt and thrown into the garbage.

Custodians from either Disneyland/Disneyworld said that at least once a month people scatter ashes.

Jodie Jackson Wells who is a business coach in Boca Raton, Flordia, smuggled a small bottle that has “her mother’s ashes into Walt Disney World” and said, “Anyone who knew my mom knew Disney was her happy place.”

Ms. Wells spread ashes on “It’s a Small World” ride “near a head-spinning bird” because it’s her mother favorite moment of the ride that always made her laugh. Later that day, Ms. Wells jumped “over the barricade surrounding the lawn outside Cinderella’s castle” with two fistfuls of ashes and threw them across the grass.
