On October 2nd at about 1:14 pm, a journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, who is a U.S. resident, entered The Saudi Consulate building in Istanbul, but never came back out. Saudi officials claim that he did leave the building a short while after he arrived, but this is not what happened.

Jamal Khashoggi traveled to Istanbul for permission documents to marry fiancé (Hatice Cengiz) on September 28 but was told to return at a different time. On October 1st he returned to Istanbul, and went back to the Saudi Consulate on October 2nd. His fiancé waited for him outside for 4 hours before she was told by consulate employees that the journalist left the building through the back. His fiancé soon after called the police.

On October 8 the Saudi Government officials said that they had nothing to do with his disappearance and are not involved in any way. Trump makes his first public comment on the issue October 10.”We’re demanding everything, We want to see what’s going on here. That’s a bad situation. And frankly the fact that it’s a reporter you could say in many respects it … brings it to a level. It’s a very serious situation for us and this White House. We do not like seeing what’s going on.“

The Journalist allegedly recorded his own murder via his apple watch. He left his phone with his fiancé and supposedly the audios saved to his iCloud where you can hear him being tortured and killed. Only Turkish officials  have claimed these recordings exist but have not said how they obtained these audios. And only they have heard them.

On October 15 Trump talked to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who “denies any knowledge “of what occurred to the journalist. Trump suggest that maybe Khashoggi was targeted by “rogue killers“. Turkish police are allowed to search the buildings for the first time.

Saudi Arabia now admits the journalist is dead. The authorities announced the arrest of 18 Saudi nationals and dismissal of two senior officials.  President Erdogan of Turkey says there is strong evidence to suggest the “savage” killing of Khashoggi was planned days in advance.

1. Three teams of 15 Saudi nationals arrived in Istanbul on separate flights in the days and hours leading up to the murder.
2. The security cameras and surveillance footage were removed from the consulate building prior to Khashoggi’s arrival.

“Obviously there’s been deception and there’s been lies,” Trump told The Washington Post. “Their stories are all over the place.”
