Kanye West Surprised Everyone at ‘SNL’
October 4, 2018
Kanye West was on Saturday Night Live’s 44th season premiere to perform. After performing he had an “unplanned, untelevised political spiel.”
According to Billboard, Kanye started off with “I want to cry right now,” and continued with, “Black man in America / Supposed to keep what you feel inside right now.” He then proceeded to comment on President Trump, who he has been supporting since 2016.
During his speech, at one point he said, “There’s so many times I talk to like a white person about this, and they’re like, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist,'” then continued with, “Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism, I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.”
Right after he said that the crowd was mixed with both applause and boos. The famous Comedian Chris Rock filmed and posted the full speech that Kanye did on social media that didn’t make the cut on TV.
President Trump later then responded to West’s performance: “Great” performance and for wearing the ‘Make America Great Again’ hat.
Kanye West recently went on Instagram saying that he wants to “abolish” the 13th Amendment, “This represents good and America becoming whole again. We will no longer out-source to other countries. We build factories here in America and create jobs. We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th Amendment. Message sent with love.” He later corrected himslef and said he misspoke – he meant to you the word “amend”, not “abolish”.
Famous social media influencers like Lana Del Rey, were very upset to what West said. She criticized West for his supporting President Trump. Lana Del Rey later went on West’s Instagram and left a comment on one of his post saying, “Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country but your support for him is a loss for the culture.”
