This new bill will block the NGO rescue ships from foreign countries, so those from other places will not be able to enter Italy. One reason higher-ups want this bill to be passed is the fight against mafia activity and people trafficking.

A modification would be for those who were involved in natural disasters and people with serious health issues. Those who want passage will have to request for a special permit to be granted permission. In their eyes it is not for those wanting to escape war or other tragedies.

The aim is to not have any refugees at all in Italy, and stop the migration of the immigrants. The ‘socially dangerous’ immigrants are being targeted currently, and this will impact the future generations. Italians are frustrated with the immigrants, due to the fact that they are setting up camps in their cities. The influx of people migrating has caused an increase in the crime rate, making it dangerous for the locals.
