Kim Jong Un- Leaves His Country For The First Time Since In Power
April 2, 2018
After six years of ruling over North Korea, the Hermit Kingdom leader Kim Jong Un, ventured from his homeland and traveled to Beijing in an armored train. Kim Jong Un left the soil of his country to meet with China’s President Xi Jinping. With China being North Korea’s oldest ally, the meeting was kept in secrecy during the planning stage. Kim Jong Un told China’s president and North Korean envoys, “It is our consistent stand to be committed to denuclearization on the peninsula, in accordance with the will of late President Kim Il Sung and late General Secretary Kim Jong Il,”
President Xi Jinping, leader of China, isn’t the only world leader that Kim Jong Un has decided to meet. He is planning on meeting with President of South Korea and the President of the United States. It is thought that Kim Jong Un will discuss the nuclear situation with President Trump. Wednesday morning Trump tweeted “for years and through many administrations, everyone said that peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula was not even a small possibility. Now there is a good chance that Kim Jong Un will do what is right for his people and for humanity. Look forward to our meeting!”
