The Death of Lil Peep

21-year-old rising star Lil Peep died at The Rock right here in Tucson, Arizona on November 15, 2017. Before his performance, the rapper was believed to have overdosed on Xanax, an anti-anxiety medication. The rapper blended rap and emo into one which caused his sudden popularity in the hip-hop and emo worlds. In his music, he confesses his avid drug use and his struggles with anxiety and depression. The rapper has also had a history of suicide attempts but many of the rapper’s friends and family claimed that this was an accident. “He was super happy with where he was in life,” said Oskar, the rapper’s brother.
Gustav Ahr aka Lil Peep was born November 1, 1996 to a school teacher and a college professor. The rapper left high school early to move to L.A. to pursue his music career- he later received his diploma. Gustav Ahr recorded and uploaded songs on Youtube and Soundcloud under the stage name of Lil Peep. In 2015, Ahr released his mixtape on Soundcloud and released Come Over When You’re Sober Pt.1 on August 15,2017. The rapper had a short career but he impacted many of his fans and other musicians.
