You may have seen her around Sahuaro, most likely in one of drama’s amazing plays or in one of choir’s performances. Celeste Moquin, senior, has been involved with almost every fine art class imaginable for the past seven years: choir, band, guitar, drama, and drama club.

Her obsession with the arts was sparked by her older brother who was involved with orchestra. Watching her brother practice the upright bass made her listen to the music her brother was making. With her new found interest in music, this started Celeste on her path to become a fine arts aficionado. Her official start was when she joined band in middle school, where she played the flute, french horn, and trumpet.

During her middle school years Celeste grew tired of band, and soon founded the drama club at Gridley Middle School. This was the start of Celeste’s newfound passion for fine arts. Celeste was drama president for three years until she came to Sahuaro. At Sahuaro, Celeste joined drama, which she has been a part of for all four years, proving her amazing abilities.

Drama is something that drives Celeste everyday. Celeste is currently in advanced drama, apart of drama club, as well as being in choir all at the same time. Celeste said, “Drama is a place where I feel like I can express myself freely. It creates a family-like experience – drama and choir are my family.”

After high school Celeste plans to pursue a degree in fine arts, hopefully paving her way to her lifelong dream of being on Broadway. Just by knowing how involved she is with fine arts, Celeste will be on Broadway in no time.
