NBA Legend’s Son to Attend the U of A
October 26, 2017
Shaquille O’Neal’s son, Shareef O’Neal, has committed to play for the University of Arizona men’s basketball team! Shareef O’Neal is a 6 foot 8, 200-pound power forward, making him a great addition to the team. He is a part of the class of 2018, making him a senior in high school as of right now.
The young prospect chose the U of A over offers from Cal U, LSU, UCLA, Georgetown, USC, and many others. Shareef was deemed number 16 overall top prospect of the class of 2018. Gaining him not only is going to be great for next year’s team, but it gives the school a lot of publicity that could help them gain future top prospects. After an unofficial visit back in November 2016, he had said that “the campus was great and the coaches treated us like family.” Shareef has also been here along with father, Shaquille O’Neal, this month. They were spotted at the Red and Blue scrimmage U of A basketball game.
After all of this great news, there have been rumors that he could decommit, specifically after the scandal the U of A men’s basketball team and its coaches have been through this year.
